First vlog on Differin 0.1% Cream- Day 5

This will hopefully be a regular vlogging of my experience with this scar treatment my doctor prescribed for me. I’m only on day 5 with it, so I’m not noticing much of a difference at this point, but I do know that with retinoids (Taz, and Retin-A) the first 3 months are often the worse for excessive dryness and skin purging. After about 3 months, there should be a gradual clearing and smoothing of the skin. I really hope I’m one of the few people who never notice many of the bad side effects while using this though! If you want to know more information about this cream you can check out- www.differin.com AS WITH ALL PRESCRIBED MEDICATION PLEASE SEEK A DOCTORS MEDICAL ADVICE BEFORE USING. I, PERSONALLY, DO NOT ADVISE PURCHASING ONLINE MEDICATION WITHOUT YOUR DOCTORS KNOWLEDGE, EVER!

    @Sicily1617 It can for some people, yep. I myself didn’t get any extra breakouts, and in fact it pretty much started clearing me up from day one. BUT you have to understand that’s not usually typical with retinoids (what Differin is). Most people have a bit of an initial breakout that can last anywhere from a few weeks to the first 3 months. Just know that some people are lucky, and others aren’t when it comes to getting a bad breakout. the only real way to know is to give it a try :)

    Does it make you brake out more?

    @d3mBOiz Oh cool, well I hope you don’t have too many problems with it! You may want to just watch out for extra dryness while using this…I’m sure your Dr told you this, but some of the acne face washes are quite drying so I thought I’d just mention it to be sure! :)
    I used to use Cetaphil Daily Wash but that ended up burning my skin, so I switched back to my original Clinique Liquid Mild soap that I started using a few months ago. My skin loves it much more with Differin. Anyways, good luck!

    @thecheatofcoolness I definitely think you should keep going with it. I didn’t see much change in the first few weeks (although yes my skin did get drier) but it’s been a month and half now and I’m quite pleased! I would suggest putting a moisturizer on after you use the Differin, if you aren’t already. I’ve heard both people that do and don’t and honestly I think if your skin is dry, it’s telling you it needs moisture. I’ll be putting up my next update in a few days so stay tuned! :D

    @LisaKaella So it works. I got some about a week ago and it makes my skin so dry. So i use it every other day. You think it will still work for me?

  7. rosemarylove86 says:

    @LisaKaella Wow, seriously?! I am so excited to hear how well it worked for that woman’s scars. Even my dermatologist didn’t think it would work that well on scarring or indents, so it’s good to hear that it actually worked for someone. I’m almost at the month and a half mark and honestly my skin hasn’t really gotten bad at all! I really think I’m miraculously one of those few cases where Differin started making things better right away. Woot! So how is your skin looking now after 2 months?

  8. LisaKaella says:

    differin is the best!!! i been using it for about 2 months now and ur skin will get ALOT worse before it gets better but its all worth it in the end. my skin got so bad but the last few weeks its starting to settle down and i noticed its gettin rid of the scars i have a few small dent scars and its getting rid of them! it is great! my mum also know’s a lady who has used it and she also said it got rid of all her acne scars (dents) and marks

    Interesting, never heard of this product. For moisturizer maybe try Clinique Even Better moisturizer. It has correcting formula for dark spot and some for acne scars. That on top of this differin may be a good combo. If you want just moisture maybe Clinique Dramatic different lotion. :) hope this helps.

    @MsLily009 Hey Lily! That’s really cool that you are starting your Differin journey now to. I think that’s such a great goal to set, especially to help keep you strong and your eye on the bigger picture. I completely understand treating acne can get really hard if it’s taken day by day, so imagining yourself with clear skin in a year sounds great to keep you motivated! And thanks so much for the sweet compliment…you just totally made my day!! I’m off to check out your video’s now :D

  11. MsLily009 says:

    OMG! I was prescribed that same thing! I got four samples, and plan to try Differin out for 4 weeks to see if it starts to improve. I have acne scars too, and acne as well. I’m 19, going to 20.. and want to get rid if it all COMPLETELY before I’m 21. Nothing special about that year, but it just gives me a goal date to hope for :P . I’m vlogging to :)
    btw You’re REALLY pretty and I know how you feel– you just want to get rid of it.
    God Bless!

    @DreadsideNubune Well I think that if you are worried about your skin it wouldn’t hurt to go to your doctor/derm and at least ask for more information about Differin. If you do some internet searching on ‘retinoids’ there is alot of info out about them and how they can help acne/scarring/sun damage. I don’t want to say yes for sure you need it, because well, I’m not a doctor and it is a decision you need to make for yourself. Hope this helps you!!

  13. DreadsideNubune says:

    @rosemarylove86
    Do you think the man should also wear the cream to hide my skin problems and that, or is it okay for the man (not me) to be natural? I don’t want to spend the large amount of money on the beauty products!!

  14. rosemarylove86 says:

    Congrats on getting Differin too. I use mine only once a day in the evening. I’ll wash my face and let it dry for maybe 20 minutes just to make sure there’s no water on my skin (I heard this makes the Differin absorb faster and can make skin dryer in the long run) and then I put on the cream. Because I have skin on the combination side, I also put a moisturizer on top of the Differin once it’s fully absorbed-maybe another 20 minute wait. It might be best to double check with your doc though!

  15. kelseyh1215 says:

    i got differin and how do you apply it to you? do you just pput it on? or do you use water too? or how?

  16. rosemarylove86 says:

    @CityStreetShoes Thanks! :)

  17. CityStreetShoes says:

    nice vlog
    check mine out

  18. rosemarylove86 says:

    lol Well that’s really sweet of you, but trust me, my skin has some serious scars and issues! I have makeup (foundation/powder) on in this video so that’s probably why it’s not noticeable, but mine are more of the indented marks too which means I need a stronger product like this to have a deeper effect on my skin. Thanks though :P

  19. DreadsideNubune says:

    Why do you take this cream product, you do not need it!! or maybe it is the effect of the cream making me think you do not need it but I don’t think this is the case!!!!!!
