How To Do Facials Yourself At Home: Extractions (part 1 of 2)

An explanation on how you can do facials and extractions at home. (My mom used to work as a beautician) Please wash your face thoroughly with cleanser before starting. You’ll need Exfoliator (for your skin type, not too harsh one, avoid those with beads or seeds, salicylic acid will do) Toner (use with dampened cotton wool) Facial mask (preferably clay for oily skin, homemade is fine too, just get one for your skin type. refrigerated) Facial steamer (or deep bowl of water and towel) Extractor or blackhead remover Mirror (magnifying one is good) Good lighting! Sunlight is great. Clean hands and tools :D The other ingredients (like aloe vera and ice cubes ) are optional :) Note: When you are extracting, you don’t want to poke/point the blackhead remover straight down on your face until it looks like you’re about to drill a hole. Try to keep it parallel and go upwards only when you need to. Damn I forgot to mention this in my video :P

You’re welcome! & thanks for the nice comment! I used to take vitamin supplements (vit C, etc) but they ran out & I got lazy. I drink all sorts of juice, just because I like it hehe, and not bothering about health benefits. I’d say that a diet which is high in fibre (fruit and veggies) is essential for good skin. And oily food should be less. I used to drink loads of water, then I got lazy, and my skin became worse. Now I’ve started drinking more.Amount depends on ur body. I’ll make a hair vid :)

Thank you so much LoveMakeupArt!!!! I just finished a long & stressful semester; so I look forward to my first ‘home-spa day’. Ok, here are a few questions:

    - Do you take multi-vitamin or organic supplements (A,B,C,D,E,zinc, etc. or some type of juice)?

    - Do you follow a particular diet to secure the benefits of the facials?

    - How much water do you drink daily?

    - Do you have any tips for hair (conditioning treatments, etc.)?

Oh, keep in mind you need the right products for your skin type. A clay mask may not be suitable for your dry skin, and be very gentle while extracting :)

Alright, once every 2 or 3 weeks doesn’t sound so bad, lol. I also have a very sensitive face which is prone to being very dry and flaky and gets extremely irritated so giving it much time to heal would be nice.

Thank you for the info! :)

Not more than once a week! Depends how much blackheads/whiteheads you have. I used to do once a week, now I do facials about once every two or three weeks. And yes it’s a long ordeal :)

How often should you do extractions? It just seems like such a long ordeal.
